SAN ANTONIO - Four sitting Justices from the Supreme Court of Texas are highlighting the faculty for the upcoming "Practice Before the Texas Supreme Court" course in Austin. "This course will cover matters in a manner that is practical, yet engaging," says course director Richard R. Orsinger, a name partner and head of the San Antonio office for the Family Law firm Orsinger Nelson Downing & Anderson L.L.P. "Whether an attorney is new to the Court or has appeared numerous times, there will be plenty of very useful information available to anyone whose practice brings them before the Supreme Court."

In addition to Supreme Court Justices Eva M. Guzman, Nathan L. Hecht, Deborah Lehrmann and Don R. Willett, the course will feature presentations from recently retired Justice Scott A. Brister, Supreme Court Clerk Blake Hawthorne, two Supreme Court staff attorneys and other respected appellate practitioners.

The program will cover a variety of important topics, including "Supreme Court Clerk's Office and Court Procedures," "Improving Your Chances That Briefs Will Be Requested," "Constructing Petitioner's Brief," "How to Convince the Supreme Court to Overturn Adverse Precedent," "When and Why Do Per Curiam Opinions Occur?" and "Pointers Based on 22 Years of Being Involved in the Process."

A buffet will be provided, with two presentations offered during the lunch session. For more information on the program or to register for the course, please visit http://www.texasbarcle.com/CLE/AABuy0.asp?lID=9826&sProductType=EV
